For the attention of individuals, the deadline for submitting the annual property tax return is approaching
An individual is required to submit an annual property tax return for individuals no later than November 3 of the current year if:
They own taxable land, use or possess state-owned land, or possess and/or use a land plot registered in the name of a deceased person (except in cases of use under a lease, rent, usufruct, or other similar agreements).
The income of the person and his/her family members for the previous (2024) year exceeds 40,000 GEL and they own taxable property (real estate, including unfinished construction, buildings or parts thereof, yacht (boat), helicopter, airplane and car(s) (car - a motor vehicle with a maximum permissible mass of no more than 3,500 kg (except for motorcycles and mopeds), the number of seats of which, excluding the driver's seat, does not exceed 8), own and/or use an object subject to property tax registered in the name of the deceased person (except for use under a lease, rent, usufruct or other such agreement). In the case of carrying out economic activity, assets recorded as fixed assets on the balance sheet, uninstalled equipment, etc.).
The obligation to submit a declaration does not arise for a person if he has submitted a declaration or has accrued tax in the previous tax year and the data does not change.
If a natural person was a declarant for property tax in the previous tax year and, taking into account the tax benefits established by the Tax Code, he/she does not have the obligation to submit a declaration in the current tax period, he/she shall apply to the tax authority with an application no later than November 3 of the tax year.
A natural person pays property tax on property and land no later than November 17 of the current year.
